The Virginia State Police Insurance Fraud Program dispersed 10 Fraud Fighters Awards to individuals who've made brilliant responsibilities to stamp out coercion in the Commonwealth.

Blackmail Fighters Awards are shown each year in the midst of Insurance Fraud Awareness Week.

To begin with Sgt. Steve Hall, IFP facilitator, exhibited the present year's Fraud Fighters Awards at a lunch meeting at the Virginia unit of the International Association of Special Investigation Units yearly assembling at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Midlothian.

"Assurance blackmail costs Virginians millions consistently, and adversities over the United States are in the billions," Hall said. "So it's fundamental to highlight a bit of the considerable work that is being done to fight assurance distortion."

In 1999, the Virginia General Assembly settled the IFP (House Bill 52-37) to begin free demand and examinations as for suspected security distortion. The IFP developed its Fraud Fighters Awards program in 2003.

Distortion Fighters Awards applicants are judged on a collection of tries taken to diminishing coercion in Virginia, including: moves made to proactively deflect assurance blackmail; consideration and duties in insurance deception examinations; cash related impact, similarly as recoveries and remuneration, of their investigative attempts; exhibited obligation to helping the security bunch in engaging distortion.
